The DISENCHANTED Salon of Jean Genet will take place on 10th September 2011 at The Future Galley in London’s Soho (5 Great Newport Street, WC2H 7HY). The exhibition will show the beauty of Jean Genet’s Un Chant d’Amour and also how Genet’s only film has influenced the works of filmmakers, artists and others in the performing arts.
The programme is designed to acquaint the audience with the works of Genet , a showing of the beautiful Un Chant d’Amour, a lecture and discussion with experts on the film and the showing of films especially influenced by Genet. The day includes reading from his poetry .The guests invited to speak in our Salon are Jane Giles author of Criminal Desires: Jean Genet and Cinema, and Jeremy Reed, author of Born to Lose, who has been described as the British Jean Genet.
